Achievements
Election Commission and our achievements

The responsibilities of the Election Commission are to conduct elections to the President and Parliament, to compile and maintain accurate voter lists for elections, to redefine the boundaries of constituencies, to conduct other elections as prescribed by law (including all local government councils such as Union Parishads, Municipalities, City Corporations, Upazilas). Council, including District Council, Hill District Council) and proper performance of ancillary functions. Issuance of smart national identity card with photo to all citizens of Bangladesh. Other achievements are also discussed below:
1. The Election Commission has been able to complete the Eleventh Parliamentary Election through close coordination with the Civil Administration, Police Administration and above all the departments. With the sincere cooperation of the government, the Election Commission has conducted free, fair, beautiful, clean elections across the country without any conflict, without bloodshed, which is the greatest achievement of all the achievements of the Election Commission.
2. Another great achievement of the Election Commission is that it was able to conduct almost all the elections in a fair manner in 2016, except for a few isolated incidents in the Union Parishad elections in all over Bangladesh.
3.It is another great achievement to be able to hold the elections of all the municipalities and city corporations of Bangladesh in a peaceful environment.
4. The highest achievement of the Election Commission is to be able to set an example by conducting the elections at the local and national level and in all the elections with the smooth coordination of all the executive departments.
5. It is now a great achievement of the Election Commission to be able to conduct EVMs digitally instead of ballots experimentally using EVMs experimentally in city corporation elections, municipal elections and union council elections at local level including some national elections. It is hoped that the Election Commission will be successful in using EVMs in all the next elections which will be a great success for the Election Commission.
6. It is one more thing to be able to complete all the elections through transparent ballot box It's a big achievement.
7. As the manpower of the Election Commission is less than the demand, a large number of officials and employees of all the executive departments of the government have been able to complete the polling by training the polling officers and law enforcement personnel, which is a great achievement of the Election Commission.
8. It is another great achievement to be able to prevent Rohingyas from becoming voters on a large scale and to have a separate database for Rohingyas which has blocked the way for Rohingyas to become voters.
9. It is a great achievement to be able to serve the database of 106 million voters in Bangladesh perfectly.
10. It is another great achievement to complete the database by taking the biometrics of all the voters of Bangladesh i.e. by taking the eye iris with 10 fingerprints.
11. The Election Commission has been able to provide more durable and advanced technology smart cards to the citizens instead of laminating cards of all voters in Bangladesh.
12. It is a great achievement to be able to set up regional election buildings at the divisional level, district election office buildings at the district level and upazila election offices at the upazila level as well as at all levels of the Election Commission.
13. The preparation of voter list with pictures of all voters is a great success of Bangladesh and the Election Commission.
14. It is a great achievement of the government and the Election Commission to appoint or appoint a woman Election Commissioner for the first time in the Election Commission. The Election Commission has taken a step forward in the advancement of women.
15. The success of the Election Commission in the national elections, city corporation elections, municipal elections and union council elections in Bangladesh, as well as the administration of the Election Commission's own officials to act as returning officers is a great achievement.
16. Achieving historic success by being able to get active participation of all political parties of Bangladesh in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election of 2016.
17. The Electoral Training Institute of the Election Commission is going through various innovative trainings to help the polling officers as well as enhance the skills of the polling officers which is a great success of the Election Commission.
18. In order to include Bangladeshi expatriate voters in different countries in the voter list, the Election Commission's own official section in collaboration with Bangladeshi embassies in different countries has achieved great success.
19. In order to increase the efficiency, the Election Commission has arranged overseas training of the officers which has achieved great success.
20. It is a success to be able to hand over smart cards to all the heroic freedom fighters of Bangladesh before December 2019.
21. Due to the centralized distribution of lost national identity cards, the lost national identity cards of the citizens were much dependent and costly which is now getting lost national circulars in a very short time from the district election office due to decentralization. The work of decentralization has been a great success.
